The owner and founder, Miki Merritt, has established herself
in the curriculum development and training fields working as an
educational consultant for clients such as Casio, Inc., Publishers
Resource Group, and Pearson Education. Her experiences cover training
for graphing calculators, digital cameras, lab interfaces, data
collectors, hand-held computers, and a variety of educational
software. She has also written manuals that serve as training
curriculum used in workshops nationally.
Miki Merritt holds an undergraduate degree in Physics and a Collegiate
Professional Teaching License in the state of Virginia. She successfully
completed seven years of teaching in local public schools before
moving to consulting full-time. In her seven years of teaching,
she played a major role in the staff development workshops in
these schools. She not only instructed her peers in using technology
but also participated in the planning of those workshops' materials.
Starting out her first year as a trainer for the new grade book
and scheduling programs, she has developed into a respected trainer
across the East Coast.
With the completion of her Master's in Education: Curriculum
and Technology, she expanded her consulting to freelance work
as well. In 2003, she developed two courses in the teaching of
Physics and Physical Science for an alternate licensure program
provided by The New Teacher Project in New York. That program
is currently being used in schools in Washington, D.C., New York
City, Austin, TX, and many other districts. She currently works
with Publishers Resource Group and Pearson Education providing
many curriculum development tasks.
Since January of 1998, she has worked with Casio, Inc.'s education
division on the local and national levels. She currently serves
as Casio's Teacher Advisory Board Vice President where she consults
with sales, marketing, and research and development teams. She
regularly conducts workshops and presentations for Casio at local
and national conferences.
